Hi, I'm Josh Novak, a Creative Director and Product Designer passionate about building brands, products, and digital experiences that make a meaningful impact.
Over the past 10+ years, I've partnered with founders, startups, nonprofits, authors, and growing organizations to transform ideas into thoughtful, user-centered experiences. My work spans branding, UX/UI, websites, SaaS platforms, native mobile applications, motion graphics, video, and creative strategy.
As Co-Founder of The Wavering Line, I lead projects from concept through launch, combining business strategy, product thinking, and visual design to create experiences that are both intuitive and memorable. Alongside client work, I've designed and launched software products including Dayly, a personal finance iOS app, and Makerly, a SaaS platform and companion iOS app built to simplify maker market management.
How I work.
I believe great design starts with understanding the problem before jumping to solutions. Whether I'm helping define a product strategy, designing a mobile app, developing a website, or creating a new brand identity, I focus on balancing user needs, business goals, and thoughtful execution.
My approach is collaborative, iterative, and grounded in the belief that the best products and brands feel simple, purposeful, and effortless to use.
Outside of work.
When I'm not designing, you'll usually find me exploring new ideas, building side projects, creating pottery, experimenting with technology, or spending time outdoors. I enjoy learning across disciplines and bringing those perspectives back into every project I work on.
